Initially, car jump starters used built-in lead-acid batteries, resulting in bulky and inconvenient vehicles. In the medium term, lithium-ion batteries have become the mainstream choice, offering compact portability, attractive design, long standby time, and long lifespan, leading to rapid market expansion. Now, jump starters using supercapacitors are also available, boasting low internal resistance, large capacity, long lifespan, and enhanced safety. They also have a wider operating temperature range than lithium-ion batteries but are more expensive.

1. Battery Capacity: Choose according to your needs. For most vehicles, around 10000mAh is sufficient. For those who need to use it as a portable power bank on airplanes, a capacity that is too large is unsuitable.

 

2. Peak Current and Starting Current: The key function of an emergency jump starter is to instantly release a large amount of electricity to activate the battery. Generally, the more cells, the greater the current. Small cars typically have 60AH batteries, with a starting current generally between 100 and 300 amps. However, larger engine displacements require a greater starting current. Some products also offer a "0-voltage" start function. Choose the appropriate option based on your vehicle's displacement and needs.

 

3. Output Voltage and Interface: Common output voltages include 5V and 9V, with some products also supporting DC 12V. Interfaces primarily include USB, Type-C, and DC ports. Some products also support fast charging protocols. The more interfaces and their variety, the more versatile it is for charging mobile phones, laptops, or other electronic devices, and even for connecting other 220V appliances via an inverter, expanding its usage scenarios.

 

4. Cycle Life: Most products are rated for several thousand cycles, but this is unlikely to be reached in typical household use, so don't worry too much about it.
